Sports, Guardians canceled Thursday due to rain
Thursday's video game in between the Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Guardians was cancelled after 213 innings as a result of rain. Alex Wood made his second appearance of the springtime for the A's. Timber strolled the leadoff batter in the top of the first, but after that discovered the area, starting out the next 3 Guardians. Daniel Schneemann got the very first hit off Timber in all-time low of the 2nd, but Tyler Soderstrum gunned him down trying to steal second to finish the inning. Kyle McCann led off the base of the second with a single to right against Shane Bieber, transferred to 2nd on a passed round and after that racked up on Brent Rooker's double to left. That was Rooker's 3rd RBI of the Springtime. Wood encountered trouble in the third as former A's outfielder Ramon Laureano hit a two-run double to give the Guardians the lead Athletics Store. The rain came quickly after and the video game was ultimately called. Game NotesSeth Brown was scraped before the video game because of tightness in his lower back. Kyle McCann began in his place. The Athletics will certainly remain in split squad activity Friday with Ross Stripling and Mitch Spence as the arranged beginners.
