CEO, Globalization Partners Bob Cahill - HRTech Interview
Can you give us a brief of your career before Globalization Partners / G-P?
Well, for starters, I’m a born-and-raised Bostonian and started my career with EY (Ernst & Young) following the classic audit or trail CPA path. From there, and for the past 25 years or so, I’ve been a C-suite executive at several, Boston-based technology companies, always with a big international focus.
One of my early customers at the beginning of my career was a technology company, and I was more fascinated by it than all the different industries I was working across. I was specifically interested in the power of software and technology, and how it can expand your market and make operations more efficient.
How did you get your start in the field? Could you tell us more about your role at G-P?
When I met the founder of G-P, Nicole Sahin, I saw the amazing potential in the technology to enable companies to hire talent anywhere in the world in just a few days. I thought it was a unique and exciting concept and it was then that I found my passion for helping companies to start scaling internationally. It was just fascinating to me. So, I knew then that was where I wanted to take my career.
As CEO of G-P, I manage the day-to-day operations, focusing on both the business’s growth and financial metrics, as well as the company’s customer satisfaction ratings and employee engagement.
I still feel like it’s day one. We’ve come a long way, but I’m so excited about where we’re going because it really is just the beginning. We’ve got so much in store for our products, our platform, and the people that power them.
What’s your favorite part about working in the industry?
I really enjoy seeing how our technology enables organizations of all sizes around the world to hire talent and grow globally. I take great pride seeing the part that G-P plays in that process.
By helping companies and businesses leverage and scale technology, through benefits, payroll and more – helping them boil all-of-that down to a single point of solution – we see the relief instead of the pain that would typically come with readily expanding on a global basis.
Being a part of the solution to help businesses grow beyond the borders of where they are, and facilitating that process is one of my favorite parts about being in this industry.
